Scripts Work
The big remaining thing in Townforge is scripts.
Scripts aren’t directly authorable by players since that’d open a massive can of worms, but players will be running them for things like an evolving storyline, and small “technical” scripts players will be able to attach to their buildings such as simple bartering systems, lotteries, etc.
Storytelling ain’t really my thing, but it’s part of what I would like Townforge to be, so after having ignored this side of it hoping it would magically happen, I’m now facing it and writing a preliminary set of storyline scripts for Townforge. Along the way, I’m fixing rough edges I encounter and making things generally more usable.
When I’m done, there will be another testnet so these things can be tested better. Hopefully the last testnet this time.
